POP UP Exhibition by Arjowiggins x United Notions – Umspannwerk Kreuzberg

To make our last POP UP memorable, the Berlin show also featured United Notions, a project created by Moscow studio The Bakery.

The project explores multicultural design across 20 countries. Along with The Bakery, 19 other studios around the world took part. The exhibition investigates cultural clichés of different countries, finding similarities & differences, and trying to express them by means of visual communication.

Each studio was asked to create two posters, one of their own design and one in response to a brief set by one of the other participating studios: “40 posters from 20 studios, explaining simple and complex things through type, illustration and colour. The aim is to show that as much we differ from each other, we still can speak the same language.”

Studios involved: Deutsche & Japaner  (Germany) / Empatia(Argentina) / Bielke+Yang (Norway) / Hey Studio (Spain) / Mind Design (UK) / Estudio Pum (Brazil) / Kurppa Hosk (Sweden) /Studio Hi Ho (Australia) / Aku (Estonia) / Moniker (USA) / Think Work Observe (Italy) /  Studio FNT (Korea) / Savvy Studio (Mexico) / Mainstudio (Netherlands) / Foreign Policy (Singapore) / Tsto (Finland) / Hvass & Hannibal (Denmark) / Epiforma (Portugal) / 1983 Asia (China)
