EveryHey Book - Hey x Arjowiggins
At Arjowiggins, we are huge fans of the universe of the Barcelona-based studio Hey. Their immediately recognizable style is defined by geometry, colour, typography and bold graphics. A stamp which they carry over into their personal projects, some of which allow them to break down barriers and find new ways of doing things.
So when Hey asked us to collaborate on a book which contains all the characters of EveryHey project, it was for us as an evidence and a big YES ! The 400 pop culture characters are finally moving from digital form onto paper !
EveryHey started on Instagram (@every_hey) at the beginning of 2014 and at that time, there were very few accounts that focused on illustration. The project includes 400 illustrations of public figures from popular culture - from singers and sports stars to works of art, also taking in the heros and villains of films, books, comics and TV series. A daily illustration with its very own style based on colourful, flat design, geometric figures which has generated a big reaction on social media.
The book shows more about how and why the characters were made. It is used as a way to explain the technical and theoretical elements of this very distinct type of illustration.
The book was published on the occasion of the exhibition EveryHey, Just People by Hey hosted by The Folio Club in October 2015. It is available on heyshop.es
